Photography art-documentary for discerning brides.
Despite a lifelong interest in taking good pictures, I did not open my eyes to photography as a profession until a trip to Spain and Morocco in 2006. The images emerging from my seven weeks there convinced me to take photography seriously. A year later, at my first public showing in Oaxaca, I met a couple who asked me to photograph their wedding. Even before the celebration began, I knew I was hooked.
What draws me to wedding photography above all is the abundance of beauty the wedding day yields. I see my job as simply documenting this beauty which illuminates bride and groom, family and friends, the space they pass through, the story they create.
Couples choose Oaxaca because it continually renews, refreshes, and inspires them, and their wedding photographs should reflect this. Photographs should be an eternal window into the day as they experience it, in which the lovingly prepared details, the power of the ceremony, and the vibrancy of the emotions come to life once again.
My work has been featured in print and online magazines and journals, and can currently be seen in Oaxaca at Café Royal and The Morocco Café.
